South West Fletcher Boat Rally 2012 - 3rd & 4th June 2012

What better way to celebrate the Queen's Jubilee than on the water in a classic British made Fletcher boat with like minded enthusiasts?
The 2012 South West Fletcher Boat Rally will be over the double bank holiday weekend of June 2nd through to June 5th 2012. This year the focus of the event with be on Sunday 3rd June at MDL's Events Pontoon, Brixham. We have hired the pontoon with the sponsorship and support of Garmin and IRCM Marine Insurance to whom which we extend our sincerest thanks. We are confident that the use of the pontoon will facilitate a much better experience for all those who attend - better access to the shore and more opportunity to look at the boats.

The events pontoon is close to facilities and Brixham town centre is but a couple of minutes walk away. We will start at 9am and commence out information talks from 10:00. Antony Birchell of Birchell Marine has kindly agreed to talk to use again on boat maintenance, followed by a talk by Adam Fowler of Fowler Marine who will share his expertise on Gel Coat and Fibreglass work.

We are delighted to advise that Fletcher have once again agreed to support us with their attendance and an opportunity to quiz them about future developments... (New 21' and 26' boats on the horizon!)

This year we want as many owners as possible to join us after lunch for a "Run around the Bay" - the sight of which should be quite something if we get the expected 30 to 40 Fletchers.

Following the circuit of Torbay, we will muster at Elberry Cove (just along from Brixham) for a prepared BBQ, Best Boat Prize and a raffle. We also hope to put on some wake and ski demonstrations here and socialise before return to port or evening cruise - depending on individual preferance.

We are asking for a cost contribution of £10 per boat this year and this will cover an overnight berth on the Pontoon for who wish to leave their boats moored, raffle entry and some miscellaneous expenses. Please note that we do not intend to make a profit, and any surplus will be donated to the RNLI.
